Avant-garde sculptor Daniel Collins’ first forays into music were the atmospheric soundscapes he wrote and recorded to accompany his large-scale art installations in the early 80s. When his sculptures failed to set the Cincinnati art community on fire, he shifted his focus to working behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer of what he labeled “deconstructionist pop,” employing a series of guest singers to also be the public faces and names for his studio creations. This quirky single from 1985 features socialite and performance artist Anna Minster (née Celeste Duncan).

I want to meet you there
on the corner
of 5th and vine
that’s where I’ll make you mine
tell me when a minute's up
